A 1-0 victory over D.C. United in RFK Stadium increased the Crew's point total to 44 and its Eastern Conference lead over second-place New York to seven points. The Crew moved into a tie with the Los Angeles Galaxy atop the overall Major League Soccer standings with seven games remaining.
